Notes: 

• The MTC-T 500 is used as a replacement option for the aging MTC-T 65. The MTC-T 65's were causing several issues when in use such as pantograph and catenary issues leading to circuit breaks and power issues. Switching to Diesel allows for the BORail system to use the train at any given time if the catenary wiring system goes out, this is in use in case of emergencies.

• 220's pantograph had an issue with attaching with the catenary wiring, when the pallet touched the catenary, the pantograph will go back down. 220 was sent to Hadleigh to see if it could get fixed.

  • On February 16th, 2025 at 11:39pm, 220 was spotted at the Groveton Yard being hauled by an MTC-T 65 locomotive. It was transported to the Cannon View Yard. The Pantograph was working, the pallet was touching the catenary wires (overhead wires). 

  • As of March 1st, 2025, 220 has been back in service

Notes:

• The BORail Corporation has signed a deal with the manufacturer Hitachi for over $580 Million USD to purchase the MTC-T 2253 unit's to run on the red line and to replace the aging fleet of the MTC-T 1151. BORail has decided to not use the proposed MTC-T 7513 due to it's low speed's and inability to follow the Red Line's strict scheduling. 

• On April 28th 2025, Train 489 from Newkirk City to Boylston was operating a Boylston Connect service. On arrival to La Vista Station in Atkinson, the train suffered a severe Electrical Discharge issue. All circuit breakers broke because of the incident. 325 suffered severe damage to the Pantograph. No injuries or deaths were reported

  • The contracting company that worked on the catenary wiring mentioned it was their fault as they were rushing putting in the placement to reach the ribbon cutting date. 

  • The issue has since be resolved at the La Vista Station.

  • 325 has been set to Hadleigh for repairs. It's known the car may be back in Late May from being fixed.

Notes:

• The MTC-T 110 is the very first diesel passenger car. The Gold Line which used to be apart of the Red line was de-electrified. Westpoint is the only station that is solo on the Gold Line that has electrified wiring. However, the rest of the system has no catenary wiring. A maximum of 2 cars are put down for the system. 1 Car transports have been seen however only on days that are not busy at all. This is the very first train to also have 2 cabs on a singular car, making it a Duo-Cabcar.

• 100 painted in a themed "Remembering the Veterans" unit for BORail

• 102 was scraped due to a malfunction within the controls of the system. 

  • 102 was eventually replaced with a new MTC-GC 1012. This delivery happended in June 4th, 2024. 

• BORail recently bought a NGC version of the MTC 1012 (would be considered as MTC-NGC 1012) from Alstom, however, during testing, the train had numerous break downs and controlling issues whilst coupled with a MTC-GC 1012 (112) to keep it powered for it's necessary functions. BORail dismissed the orders from Alstom of a NGC version

  • The first NGC version of the MTC 1012 car number was numbered as 130.

• BORail ordered 10 new MTC-T 1012 Cabcars (120-129) on December 8th, 2024. The order will be shipped on March 25th, 2025 at the East Heights Yard.

Notes:

• MTC-T 1151 originally were built back in 2004 and acquired by Juno State Rail as an MTC-GC 1151, all units had pantographs however, due to ongoing issues with the pantographs being connected to a cabcar, it resulted in numerous power failures within the set, leading to extensive delays.

  • In 2006, Bombardier decided to remove the pantographs from the MTC-T 1151 and placing them into trailers. This lead to the creation of the MTC-NGC 1151.

• The MTC-T 1151 has been officially discontinued because of it's old age. All sets were taken to SATransit for their own usage. The MTC-T 1151 has been replaced by the new MTC-T 2253, however, the MTC-T 2253 and the MTC-T 2254 will be used interchangely between both the Red and Green lines.

• MTC-T 1031G was discontinued and replaced with a much newer model which is the MTC-T 2254. This happended as the model was very old and becoming dated. 

  • The MTC-T 1031 family including the MTC-T 1031B and the MTC-T 1031G have now officially been discontinued as of July 2024 replaced with newer & safer models for the BORail Flatlands system.

• Due to a problem within the electrical system, the model was put out of service and replaced with the MTC-T 1012 for the blue line.

• As of April 2024, the MTC-NGC 1031B was scraped at the East Height's Station yard. (802 has been scrapped at the Leighton Castle Station siding. No trailers are connected.)

  • As of May 2024, the MTC-NGC 1031B (Numbers: 800, 801, 802 & 809) were taken from both the East Height's Station yard and Leighton Castle Station siding and taken to The State of Fairmont for SATransit use.

  • SATransit will use the MTC-NGC 1031B for their garbage trains.

• As of May 2024, 803 - 808 & 810 - 812 were taken to Hadleigh for scraping purposes.

• The MTC-T 9455 was the first train used on the Blue Line System overall. This train was discontinued due to power issues and driver control issues that lead to numerous delays on the system. This train was later replaced with the MTC-T 1031B but that suffered a lot more break downs than the 9455 did. 

  • All MTC-T 9455 have been transported to the State of Fairmont for SATransit useage for passenger uses. There are no remaining cars at all in any of the BORail Flatlands yards.

• The MTC-T 1936 was discontinued after a few months of operation due to its excessive weight and intermittent power losses within the electrical system. These issues caused significant track damage along multiple routes and led to substantial delays. The train was configured in sets of three. Unfortunately, the exact number of carriages and the date of acquisition by BORail are currently unavailable.

• As of April 2024, MTC-T 1936, 3 carriages were scrapped at the East Height's Station yard. Carriages included the numbers of: 424, 436 & 445. 

  • As of May 2024, MTC-T 1936 was removed from the East Height's Station yard and taken up to Hadleigh for scrap. The location of it's whereabouts are currently unknown.

• MTC-T 1151 355 has been scrapped, 300 has also been scrapped due to the uneven number. 

  • The MTC-T 1151 may potentially be replaced with a newer model train in the coming time, BORail CEO announced on a Tuesday Press Conference.

• BORail Flatlands uses the MTC-PT 1936 trailers to transport the movement of train sets and cabcars. For example, the MTC-T 1151 car number 355 needs to be transported, as it is a NGC, it is a cabcar without a pantograph, this train will get electricfied by coupled with a MTC-PT 1936 then driven by the cab of the MTC-T 1151. Basically making the MTC-PT 1936 a battery/power car.

  • There are two MTC-PT 1936 trailers per line. 

• BORail has offiically ended the service with the MTC-T 1936 on December 2024 with the new locomotive engine MTC-T 65

  • MTC-T 65 has now been replaced with a new diesel engine the MTC-T 50

• Trailer Numbers* are inaccurate due to not enough information regarding how many trailers were for this train.

  • Despite the all Blue Line trains not having a B car. The MTC-T 1031B does, however, regarding about not having enough information regarding these blue line B cars, it's safe to say, the B cars have never been in use for any passenger uses.

• The MTC-T 65 are used to transport trains across the BORail Flatlands system.

• 790 is a MTC-NPL 65 locomotive, originally classified as an MTC-PL. However, the pantographs were removed due to technical issues within the unit. The locomotive's number was initially 706 but was later changed as a result of this modification. Currently, 790 serves as a cabcar for various train sets. For instance, a typical train set consists of two cabcars, one at each end. If one cabcar malfunctions but the other end remains operational, other MTC-PL 65 locomotives are typically deployed. In some cases, however, 790 may be utilized by connecting it to an MTC-PL unit and disconnecting it at the location of the dead cabcar.

• The MTC-T 7513 is in the testing phases right now for the Red Line. BORail was able to get a $350 Million dollar contract with the manufacturer Hitachi to acquired this train. This train is able to compete with the aging fleet of the MTC-T 1151. This train is supposed to be in revenue service by Late 2026.

  • As of February 2025, BORail has kept the MTC-T 7513 on hold due to possible additions of the MTC-T 2254 coming to the Red Line and instead replacing the aging fleet of the MTC-T 1151.

  • As of a Februrary 22, 2025 Press Conference at the BORail HQ, the MTC-T 7513 will not be used for the red line, but instead will use the MTC-T 2253 for the new red line train. The MTC-T 2253 will be used for both Red and Green line services.
